International Max Planck Research School for the Mechanisms of Mental Function and Dysfunction

The ‘International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for The Mechanisms of Mental Function and Dysfunction’ (MMFD) provides state-of-the-art training and research under the guidance of leading neuroscientists, psychologists, psychiatrists and computational scientists in Tübingen. Excellent graduates will enjoy an unparalleled opportunity to start their research career in neuroscience.

The IMPRS is a joint project of the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, the University of Tübingen and the Hertie Institute for CLinical Brain Research. It is embedded in the Graduate Training Centre of Neuroscience (GTC) and thus benefits from more than 25 years of successful cooperation in the training of young neuroscientists.

The IMPRS MMFD was launched in January 2020 and is one of about sixty International Max Planck Research Schools run by the Max Planck Society in partnership with various universities and research institutions. IMPRS programs provide an extraordinary framework and working environment for graduate students, and they provide unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research projects.
